Business Valuations and Fairness Opinions

We provide independent, unbiased opinions of majority or minority interests in closely-held businesses, professional practices, and specific intangible assets such as patents, trademarks, employment agree-ments, copyrights, stock options, non-publicly traded securities and goodwill. We prepare fairness opinions, merger and acquisition studies, employee stock ownership plan feasibility studies and other similar financial analyses.

In arriving at our opinion of value, we consider business performance, sales of comparable entities, and liquidating values as well as industry trends and local and national economic conditions.

Our reports provide defensible appraisals, and conform in all respects to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Our appraisals are supervised by credentialed appraisal professionals who may hold one or more of the following designations: Certified Public Accountant Accredited in Business Valuation (CPA/ABV), and/or Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

We develop fairness opinions for business sales, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and various types of financing transactions.

We issue opinions on behalf of public shareholders, common stockholders in private companies, preferred stockholders, limited partners, option holders, creditors, charitable foundations and trusts, ESOP's and other benefit plans.

Economic Forensics, LLC provides independence, expertise, and an unbiased analysis of the value of your business. In arriving at our opinion, we will review the price and terms of the deal in the context of the value of future earnings, comparable transactions, and possibly the cost to replicate your business. In exit strategy and succession planning assignments, we will identify strategic considerations that could increase the value of your business. Our opinions are detailed, well reasoned, and provide our clients with a reasonable range of their business’s value.
